Approached with an aging label design that all too closely identified with the distant past of it’s family heritage, Boots Beverages reached out to BCG for an overhaul and revitalization of their beloved soda brand.

Initial work focused on concept development of their 12 ounce glass bottles and four-bottle carrier packaging. The three part goal was clear: Bring the flavors to life, engage the customer with unquestionable on-the-shelf presence and honor the family-centered history. The challenge to land on a successful design was further re-enforced by the requirement to modify the same design to each of the 10 boots flavors.

Concepts lived, died and were refined with each passing iteration. With the layout mostly settled, development is ongoing and continues with specifying a monotone color system for each flavor. Easier said than done, each flavor’s color selection is unique with special considerations to be made with respect to both the bottle and liquid colors. Each system will be curated, tested and verified to ensure the bottle jumps off the shelf.

Redesigned 12 ounce cans and fountain labels are on the horizon for the Boots Beverages family of product offerings. Stay tuned for the results!
