Frontier Tubular Solutions, Inc. came to BCG in need of an identity for a start-up company. Following an acquisition, Frontier came to fruition by building upon the existing services of their former company. They have a head start as a solid company with a strong reputation. The objective for this project was to create an identity for a new company that already has deep roots within the marketplace. It was critical that the Frontier mark present the new company as an established corporation.
The project was initiated with a number of sketches that explored a wide range of executions for the logo. I wish I could keep all of these sketches in one neat little place, but they usually end up on whatever I am writing on, a piece of scrap paper, in one of many sketch pads or scribbled on a calendar.
Quite a few concepts were discarded, and a handful were selected for further development. As a designer it is always entertaining to go back and review some of the initial sketches for a new identity. What was I thinking?
The process then shifted to the computer screen where the initial concepts evolved into logos that were ready to present to the client. BCG worked with Frontier to narrow down the field to a single logo to represent the company.
The final logo was selected. It took the exploration of several logo concepts for Frontier to choose the graphic representation of their company. In the end they chose one of the first concepts presented. Funny how that works sometimes. This was a successful project for an excellent client. I am delighted to take part in the growth of this new company.
Stay tuned, there's more to come.
