I truly did not understand what I was up against when the CouponKABOOM! project came across my desk. This was an existing website that was floating around in a very saturated online coupon marketplace. But there was a unique selling proposition that the majority of the competitors could not claim — no strings attached. Just find your coupon and use it, as simple as that.
The first action item of the project was to update the existing CouponKABOOM! identity. We gave the colors a little pick me up and simplified some of the graphic elements for a bolder impact. BAM!
Step two was to define how we wanted to present coupons to the visitor and organize them on the website. Another objective was to make it very clear that CouponKABOOM! is simple and easy to use. At this stage the general look and feel of the site was established and the functionalities were being researched and defined.
In conversations with the client, we began to uncover opportunities that would provide additional revenue streams to CouponKABOOM! For example, the Daily Deal concept was featured prominently on the website, which demanded an increased rate for premium coupon visibility. The process of identifying additional opportunities for income was a by-product of the development of the new website — and certainly one of the most rewarding outcomes.
CouponKABOOM! quickly transformed into a captivating website for a wonderful client.
